815km of biking roads which are bringing joy to everyone. Live memorable moments along this emblematic green road. With your bike, cross the Auvergne Rhône Alpes and PACA regions by following the « Route du soleil » ( highway). Starting from the Léman Lake in Geneva to the mediteranean sea, the Viarhona offers a unique playground to change your mind and take the time to enjoy landscapes. Small villages, castles, vineyards, bridges, nature… So many reasons to ride along the river.
The Viarhona offers so many possibilities to accomodate yourself and enjoy ! After some kilometers, a resfreshing and gourmand break is to be done. Along the Viarhona in Tournon sur Rhône and Tain l’Hermitage : restaurants, bars or the Valrhona Chocolate Museum, gourmets will be glad to taste fresh local products. From the Viarhona green road, you can take another biking road heading to the Train de l’Ardèche. Take a « visit » break to enjoy an unmissable travel in a stream train. A small detour of 8km ( round trip) will allow you to admire the Gorges du Doux. A green and wild landscape will surely give you great memories of your bike trip along the Viarhona.

The first camping located along the Viarhona, coming from Lyon, is the Camping de l’Iserand . A camping with a human dimension. Pool and shady spots bring joy to cyclists who wants to cool down. The camping offers the possibility to accomodate yourself in cabins or cyclo tents ! You can put your bikes and sleep confortably with the essentials. A great alternative to the tent fabric and the mobile home.
7km further to the South, the Camping Le Rhône ,in the center of Tournon sur Rhône, offers an exeptional view on the river and the surrounding vineyards. A park full of trees, a heated pool and its closeness to the shops give the campers the possibility to walk around to visit the Château Musée, the Sentier des tours or the beautiful cobbled streets.
The city of Tain l’Hermitage, on the other side of the Rhône, is rocked by the vineyards of l’Hermitage. The wine cellars, the Valrhona Chocolate museum as well as the legendary road N7 makes its reputation. The "Camping les Lucs " welcome Viarhona's cyclists with a splendid view on the river and an access on foot to the stores. If you wish to enjoy a greener and calmer spot, we suggest you the campings located at 3km from the center of Tournon in Ardèche. 5 campings by the river and close from the Train de l’Ardèche activity. Les Foulons , Youpendi , les Sables , la Bohème or le Castelet.
