Le sentier des tours – 1h -2kms

An unmissable walk in Ardèche Hermitage! Located in Tournon sur Rhône, this 1 hour course is ideal for families. The departure is from the city center, you walk through the pedestrain et shopping street then you take the path towards the tour de vierge ( tower with à virgin on top). This part is steep, go at your own pace, especially with children, but the view is a great reward! Arrived at the top, you are at the foot of the vineyards of Saint Joseph with a view of the town of Tournon sur Rhône. You overlook the Château-Museum, an opportunity to introduce children to it in a different way! Continue the ascent for a hundred meters, then the pleasure of the descent is yours (follow the direction of Saint Jean de Muzols, at the hiking sign). You then continue on the path until you return to the center of the city. The path ends with stairs, stroller access is not possible so think about your baby carrier!

Hike: Le sentier des Tours

L’étang du mouchet (Mouchet pond)  – 45min - 2kms

Located in the village of Chavannes, this pond ‘s got an easy access with dedicated parking. For parents with babies, it is an ideal walk because it is accessible by stroller. Allow about 45 minutes to go around the pond. It is a place to discover in every season of the year with the possibility of picnicking, tables are available as well as benches to admire nature.

Hike : Etang du Mouchet

La tour de Mercurol (Mercurol Tower)  – 800m – 45min

Ah, here is a nice family walk around Tournon sur Rhône. Located in the town of Mercurol-Veaunes, as its name suggests, you can park in the car park at the entrance of the village (along the main axis) and climb up to the perched tower, thanks to recently redone stairs. This walk is therefore not accessible by stroller, remember to bring your baby carrier! At your own pace, you will arrive at La Tour in the middle of the vineyards of the Crozes Hermitage appellation. Your efforts to climb will be rewarded by the setting and the view which gives way to an astonishing panorama of the Rhône.

Hike: Tour de Mercurol

Lac des Meinettes ( Meinettes lake) – plus de 1h30 – 4kms

The Lac des Meinettes is a pretty spot of greenery ideal for a family outing around Tournon sur Rhône. The departure can be made from the town of Cheminas in Ardèche, enjoy a good hour walk with the children. Along the banks, there are tables for reading the landscape or even playful supports to discover the wild life of the lake through the life of the birds present there. Enough to take a breath of fresh air in all seasons!

L’arboretum Saint Félicien – 300m – Discovery walk

Discover the plants and trees along the river in the town of Saint Félicien in Ardèche. Follow the signs on this botanical trail and enjoy a nature walk. In summer you can also dip your feet in the Daronne river, the sunny rocks are beneficial for sunbathing and for families, the wooded and shaded area is ideal for a snack break.
