Chateau de Chazotte

Description

A magnificent place to discover!
The facades, roofs, postern gate, and entrance door were listed in the Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments in 1981.
Interpretive trail open year-round: information available at the Arlebosc town hall. Built in the early 17th century, the château follows on from an earlier 14th-century manor house. Its construction follows the codes of Renaissance architecture. Its fortified appearance is linked to the troubles of the Wars of Religion.
In the 18th century, a number of improvements were made, including the creation of two gardens, one on the side for strolling, the other below for the pleasure of the eye. Nineteenth-century additions did little to alter its original appearance.
Family-owned since 1728.
The interior of the château is not open to the public.
