She is wary, always in a rush, and a bit of a shrew. Thomas, her new neighbor, is a widower but thoroughly likable, humane, and well-adjusted. Her childhood in Roubaix was straight out of Zola; his was more like *Spirou*.
A water leak sets the stage for a life-changing encounter between this playwright suffering from a lack of inspiration and a tax lawyer never at a loss for words. They size each other up, clash, and then fall for one another—only to drift apart, fall out, and finally find their way back together. We follow the funny, moving evolution of their story and their feelings. The dialogue is sharp, witty, and fast-paced.
